Anyone ever install EMU-0404 and M-Audio Delta 66 on same computer

I currently have these 2 cards installed on different machines, but was toying the thought of putting them in the same machine. Just wondered if anyone has done this already and if they had issues. I like the routing of both, but I like the effects using the chips on the emu instead of the CPU, but I like the delta for the connectivity to get things on the computer to start with. Also the emu has MIDI on it and the delta does not, so rather than buy a usb midi box wanted to use EMUS for inputting the midi.

I have both a Delta 10/10 and a SB Audigy Pro ZS and have never had an issue.

You can certainly use the MIDI from a card other than your default one with no problem too. You just select the appropriate device in your app.

It's not to say that there can't be issues with Drivers and what not i just personally have had no dramas.

The only problem your likely to have would be you can only use 1 or the other using ASIO drivers at a time. If you use WDM drivers then both should be available.

The two converters may be slightly out of time, so on longer recordings one card may be slightly out after awhile.

Then again, maybe not, so it's certainly worth a shot.

To solve the problem pjk speaks of which is true. You can use the better card as the timing master and it will slave the other cards clock to itself. I'm not sure the Emu card will work well but it is worth a try. I would use the M-Audio card as the master as it has the better more stable clock in it.

Thanks guy. My concerns were with the latency / timing issues in my thoughs as well, that is why I was asking about this combo since they are different manufacturers, to see if any one had tried this combo in particular. Now if I can find the time to tinker with it I will let you all know, lol. I have had the EMU card for about a year and I love it, however the system I have it on (this one) is not set as a dedicated audio workstation, the one that has the Delta 66 is higher powered and dedicated. I just installed windows xp on it to see about putting the cards together. I have been running it under Linux and there are no EMU drivers (for the 0404) but the m-audio works great.
