My computer just crashed, a blue screen flashed up and all i had time to read was "Bugcode"!! When it restarted, windows didn't seem to recognize my sound card (Berhinger FCA202). So i restarted again......this time all seemed ok, music played through itunes etc, until I tried using cubase. I got the message

"The current ASIO-MME configuration was never tested, or previously failed the test........Should the current configuration be tested?"

So I went into the Steinberg Multimedia setup and put all the options to where they should be, and tried again.......

Same message, so I clicked yes.....but then:

"Not all the selected devices in the current configuration were successfully started with their selected options.

If this card is currently configured to accept a digital signal, and no digital signal is present, please either reconfigure the card to use an internal clock, or apply a digital signal, or if possible switch this port to accept an analog input."

Being only semi computer literate.....it would be marvellous if someone could translate!!!!

It means something got corrupted during your crash...or something like that.

If I was you I'd uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the sound card.

Yeah, good catch. Maybe a current scan for virus, and malware: adaware / spybot / hijack this would be in order.

I've seen systems start acting all goofy like this when there's a 'nasty' afoot.

Have tried re-installing the driver.....no joy.

Am running a virus etc scan now, but nothing found there yet.

Could it be a problem in Cubase? All other audio output programs work properly (windows noises, iTunes etc)....I'm most perplexed!

Could be, did it crash while Cubase was open? If so, maybe reinstall Cubase as well.

I just did a little Google, and apparently "bugcode" is just a DOS geek term for a stop code, common with the BSOD. Not to worry, then.
