Any of you guys ever play this? I have heard that it's a great game, but it carries an M 17+ rating. How come? I'm not sure I want this game being played in my house when I have a 9 year-old daughter walking around.
Am I being an over-protective parent, or is this game better left for dorm rooms and frat houses?

HUGE amounts of killing and what not but it's a complete riot.
I'm not sure which GTA you're talking about but here is a review of the latest one for the PS2.

Jul 31, 2007 09:12 pm I have GTA: San Andreas. It's great fun. HOURS upon HOURS of entertainment.
However; the language, violence, and innuendos throughout the game would make it very much MA-17.
I'd leave it in the dorms.

Aug 03, 2007 07:58 pm Jim, it is not something you want your 9 year old daughter to see for the most part. As stated there is lots of killing, foul language and sexy cartoon women propositioning the thief.
You may enjoy running through the game but it something best left to the time when the 9 year old is not present. It is a challenging game for sure, and both boyz have beat all the versions. Lots of driving and beating up opposing drug dealers and the like.

Aug 04, 2007 03:26 pm geez i donno, i've only messed around with it a few times...i never did any of the missions. i don't think a 9 year old girl would be too interested in it....unless she's into cop killing.

Aug 04, 2007 09:35 pm Actually i must confess i played GTA:SA a few times.
One of the best games I've played. It's incredibly open ended which really appealed to me.
I've even got the two games for the PSP. It's amazing what those little machines can pull off.

Aug 05, 2007 03:20 am Yeah I spend more time running around trying to blow stuff up than doing the missions. I only do missions when I get bored with the blowing up of the stuff. :) I think we have established its no good for a 9 year old girl so you don't need my input on it!
