Need 8 more ins/outs for protools, any suggestions?

I'm running LE w/ the digi002 and I used an adat for an additional 8 ins/outs for a while but no longer have it. Any suggestions? Would the motu 828mkII be compatible or maybe the M-Audio Octane?

I'm not 100% sure on this but I think your best bet is looking at M-Powered stuff. So ya, the Octane would probably work but **don't take my word on that**.

I'm gonn be picking up one of the presonus 8-channels. Probably the DigimaxLT. Anything with adat out.

Wouldn't you need another M-Audio or PT interface? I didn't think PT played well with others...

Well, the primary interface has to be M-Audio or Digidesign, but if he's looking for a a preamp that can be connected via ADAT, it doesn't really matter. So you have your 002 hooked up to the computer (through firewire) as the "interface", then you hook up an additional preamp connected digitally, via S/PDIF, AES/EBU or optical (litepipe/ADAT). You then have 16 inputs, 8 analog, 8 digital. Digidesign is discrete, but it has friends. : )

But to the OP, that Octane would work great, along with the Focusrite Octopre and Octopre LE. Let us know how ya make out.

I did a little more research, it seems the Octane only has an ADAT out, so - I'd be able to have 16 ins on Protools, but then I'd still only have 8 outs back to my console. Same w/ the Presonus stuff.
It really looks like the MOTU 828mkII has what I need, just hope it's compatible. It has the optical in/out - it says 96kHZ optical... will that work w/ my ADAT in/outs on the 002?

Thanks for the help guys.
