Knowing what kind of music you will be making will really help out to give you an idea of what else you might be needing.

Let us know and we'll get you heading down the right track.

you need something to play your samples into the mpc, many people use turntables, but it's going to depend on what you use for samples...

after that, you only need the mpc to bang out some beats. what else you need depends on what you want to do after you make a beat.

to sample vinyl you would need a turntable, an mpc, and a cable that connects the turntable to the mpc.
as a note, you may need to get drum samples from another source other than vinyl unless you have an extensive collection, as drum breaks aren't always easy to find.

i'm not sure if they still do this, but you might check on ebay and look for stuff like kanyes drum kits or neptunes drum kits or premiers drums or something along those lines. Usually will send a cd rom or dvd rom of drum samples. Otherwise, maybe you can try googling free drum samples and see what you can pull. You will have to find a way to get the drum samples from your pc to you mpc though. Also i have a friend who likes to use an audio cd called guerrilla funk drums (i think). It's a bunch of drum breaks, but you can chop up the breaks into their individual drum hits so you can control each type of drum on seperate mpc pads.

You can also try Smart Loops, PowerFX, Zero G, and several other places for some killer drum samples and loops.

As for the turntable, don't forget to use a pre amplifier made for use with turntables. In a pinch you can use a cheap DJ mixer which will give you 2 pre amps already built into it.

Not positive, but I think it is a rack mount sound module, which means it has the motif keyboard sounds, but without the keyboard.
