Hi there,
Does anybody have any opinions on CAD microphones? Particularly the new Trion 7000 ribbon and 8000 tube, the M9 tube and the M179 condenser? I can get some pretty inexpensively, and they seem to get favorable reviews. Are these good mics, or uuhh.. good mics for inexpensive mics?

Dec 10, 2006 01:37 am I have used several of their mic's and still keep one that I like for its higher SPL rating and good all around sound.
Their new mic's are getting some good reviews although you will find they are not as commonly known as some of the other brands who spend alot on advertising.
The mic's you mention are all pretty durable with the exception of the ribbon, which is common for ribbon mic's to be a bit fragile. Otherwise they are good sounding and stoutly built mic's.
