Im trying to make a virtual instrument thingy in Halion SE and ive dragged in the samples i have. its a music box im making so i havent got a full scale, just notes here and there. what i need to do to make it work is somehow expand the range of each sample so it covers the gaps.

heres where im at now:

how do i stretch the brown lozenge things above the notes? ive got the manual here and it tells me pretty much nothing about it...

Hey flame, you should be able to right click and bring up a context menu for each sample you drop into whatever area. IT might actually be in the same menu you dropeed the samples into.

The object is to assing each sample to its home key and the assing it to a specific key range. In the case of your lowest sample which apppears to be dropped on A4 you could assing it say from D3 to D4. The object is to try and assing samles as evenly as possible so you might only have to stretch each one an octave or so.

Is that Halion SE a demo or freebe or something. If so let me know were to grab it and I'll experiment for ya. I have a tiny bit of time tonight and tommorrow as well. Tommorrow I will be home most of the day on and off.

I have to go pick up Tuna now but should be back online in short order. If you need to just drop an email as mine picks up every 2 minutes.

Either way I'll get ya through it.

Hey Noize, thanks man. Ran out of time to mess with this yesterday. SE is a stripped down version of halion, without the seperate screen for mapping, which makes me think it may be a whole lot more basic than i actually need.

In fact, you just drag and drop samples onto the relevant key, and there isnt any more options that the ones you see on the screengrab there. Rightclick doesnt do anything either.

Sadly, its not a freebie or demo, i paid for this as part of the Steinberg Studio Case, so I'll be a bit grumpy if it doesnt do what i want (which it doesnt)

I grabbed a fewe freeware/shareware ones a couple months ago. And I think one of them was able to map a single sample to multiple notes. I'll try and dig one up later or when I get back from the lake.

Otherwise pending what exactly you want I can recomend a couple that aren't badly priced either.

But let me see what I can dig up first.
