For each song of the following songs, I wrote the lyrics, composed the song, played every instruments (piano, guitar, keyboards, glockenspiel, harmonica, percussions, etc.), sang the vocals and back vocals, and mixed it by myself on my computer. Keep in mind that these recordings are done with whatever equipment I could put my hand on, and that mixing is pretty new for me.

This is my first non-piano solo composition. I especially experimented with overlayins vocals on this one.
Voyage à Cardiff
This is one of my first piano composition. The recording is pretty old, so the sound quality isn't as good on this one.

This is actually a song written by Joseph Arthur, an awesome artist that everyone should check out... This is my take on his song.
Improvisation~La Nuit
This is some improvisation I did on my piano. Recent recording, the sound quality is better here.
The Dust and the Island
This is one of the latest song I've written, very progressive. It's IMO, one of my best songs.
First Day of my Life
This is a song written by Bright Eyes, another awesome artist worth checking out.
La Mer d'Argent
This is a song I've written not so long ago. Quite experimental, switching from french to english lyrics at some times.
Aurore
This is another old piano solo song.
Evolution
Somewhat of a short composition. The most pop-influenced of my songs.
Rêve d'Été
Another piano solo song recently recorded, this one a bit different in style.
Graveyard of Regrets
Second composition after Staring Eyes. A lot of people tell me it's their favourite.
L'Envaguée
Song in english despite the french name (actually, it's not even a real word).
Honest opinions are always appreciated, and will definitely help me to improve, thanks! :)

Sep 25, 2006 05:06 am Dude, fantastic stuff! By 'whatever you could get your hands on' do you by chance mean pro tools HD, an SSL 9000K, C414's, and U 87's? lol.
I've only listened to Graveyard of Regrets, but:
Awesome compososition, awesome mix, awesome lyrics, awesome melodies, awesome harmonies, awesome playing. I wish I could produce stuff like this!
On my ipod it goes....
Sep 25, 2006 08:44 am Thanks for the nice comments :)
I indeed happen to be very lucky and "stumbled" upon nice equipment, I got a Roland E-86 keyboard and Neumann KM-84 mics. (I have my family to thank for these...)
Otherwise it would've been pretty hard to gather some equipment, as it's quite expensive for a 17 years old guy.
I'm currently saving for an acoustic guitar, Graveyard of Regrets does have some guitar, but I used my classical guitar, and there's a lot of stuff I want to do that can only be done on an acoustic guitar.
Sep 25, 2006 09:54 am Wow dude, I'm 17 as well. Your stuff blows mine out of the water. Kudo's to you and keep up the good work!
Sep 25, 2006 12:12 pm I'm curious to see how your stuff sound. You know, you should remember that art never is about someone's stuff being better than others'. I believe music is very personal and as long as you're able to express yourself through it, the end result will have some value.
Of course, aesthetic values might be stronger in someone's work than in others', but that's just a question of practice, and I believe everyone who works hard enough can achieve something great.

Sep 25, 2006 12:31 pm I played a 'G' chord once, that was pretty swell.
=)
just kidding.
It would be nice to have a grand piano in my living room. I finally have space for a baby grand, unfortunately, i only have a 'free upgright' budget =).
I agree with CS: very nicely done. very nice composition and creation. I'm listening to more of the others now.

Sep 26, 2006 07:06 am Very nice Reveirg. Really like the way your songs are arranged. Not to even mention the good job you did on mixing them. It reminds of some coldplay songs, but then for some reason I also think of the beatles too; mostly in some of your harmonies.
Anyway sweet tunes.

Oct 02, 2006 03:49 pm Ya, that yousendit place only allows the files to sit for so long. The problem as well for those of us that want to listen is you have to sign up and in to download the file. They launch a friggin cookie/tracker as well.
Oct 03, 2006 03:18 pm get 'em back up somehwere. i like piano stuff....
Oct 06, 2006 04:31 pm I've updated the links for the two first songs and added a new one. I didn't upload the three piano solo songs yet, yousendit seems to be down for now...
Thanks for all the nice comments! :)
Oct 07, 2006 04:22 am Yeah, really nice vocals. You're lucky to have a really good voice for overdubing/overlaying them. I envy ye.
Dec 27, 2006 03:23 am Well, I've completed my first CD, posted all the links right here, and uploaded the first post!
Some are a bit older so you might notice a difference in the sound quality/mix in some songs. Keep in mind that this is not so much an album as just some of my songs thrown together to make a CD.
Last thing, some of the songs have french names, only one of those have french lyrics, others are piano solo songs. The others have english lyrics.

Take some time to write a little comment if you listen to some songs, it always helps!
Thanks!
