How do i get that radio, phone, static, or (thru) speaker effect to my vocals?
Green day, the killers and of course techno music use them a lot.
Can anybody share their fav or most used effect on vocals?
Thank you!!! u r helping me grow a lot!

Aug 29, 2006 09:27 pm Use a parametric EQ, a graphic EQ will do in a pinch. Depending on the source vocal and the exact effect you want you can try boosting the EQ anywhere from around 2500hz to around 5000hz. For the staic sound simply add a tiny bit of distortion. Or you can go here and download this pluggin. I use it frequantly. www.izotope.com/products/audio/vinyl/

Aug 30, 2006 04:47 am The E-Retrovox is built for that stuff, and used just as a dabble it can warm up ur vox and add some nice feel to them. I use it all the time for my vox, well not me really my guitarist does that stuff, i dont feel i can mix my own singing coz basically i hate hearing myself OVER and OVER again. Ofcourse there are the standard effects, Reverb, compression that i use. I use Glaceverb and the Classic Compressor, yep free stuff is the best stuff.
Aug 30, 2006 10:56 am i say cut EVERYTHING except 300-2k......hard. for a more 'authentic' telephone effect, change your sample rate to 22khz and bit depth to 12 (if ya can, phones actually come out to be around 13 bit, through some kinda process, i forget)....distort/OD to taste.
