New to the board, question about Reason 3.0

I'm just getting started in making computer based production. Before i bought my software i had a couple questions...

Is there anyway that I could use Spectrosonics Stylus RMX instruments and sequence them in Reason? I heard that Reason doesn't use VST instrument plug-ins but is there any way around this or should I try a different program besides Reason? I haven't purchased a workstation yet, so i'm open to all ideas.

Thanks in advance

P.S. this is for hip hop production purposes...

yeah, reason will not host vst's, but you could run reason and stylus in a different host like sonar, or cubase, ect.

Indeed, in Sonar I simply run Reason Rewired and Stylus as a pluggin. So in Sonar you would be able to use them both at the same time. And using ReWire will lock Reason to the timing in Sonar.

If you dont want to go all the way with Sonar if your doing Hip Hop you may want to look at Project 5 from Cakewalk. IT will function the saem as Sonar and host Reason as a ReWire client and you will be able to use Stylus as a VSTi pluggin.
