I love fleetwood mac. post peter green especially.
I'm trying to play the mp3's off my computer and feed them into my headphones in another room so i can drum along.
I'm having problems though.
Currently my set up is
mp3 on hard drive----m audio delta 44 out 3/4 (my monitors are taking up out 1/2)---- channels 1 and 2 on my mixer (behringer ub1204)----aux send----input to chanell 1 of a tascam portastudio--headphones.
I have tried opening Audition to see if I can do it that way. No luck
I have tried changing the patchbay router settings on the card. No luck
I have tried unplugging the monitors and running straight into the desk. Still No luck
Does anybody do this when they practice? Can anybody give me some pointers please?
Many thanks

May 08, 2006 04:55 pm Just play the mp3 in Media Player, WinAmp, or whatever you normally use to listen to music.
Then go into Control Panel->Sounds and Audio, click the Audio tab, and for the playback device, select whichever device is connected to what you want to hear the music from (delta audio out 3/4).
Then in the patchbay/router, I think you'll need to select "wav out" for outs 3/4.

May 09, 2006 09:34 am Wow, if that didn't work, I'm not sure what to tell ya. Is "wav out" even an option on hw out 3/4, or is it just an option on hw out 1/2? I can't remember.
Hmmm, setting the playback device to Delta 44 HW out 3/4 should route all windows sounds to that pair of outputs. Then setting the Delta router to make outs 3/4 listen to Windows' wav out should allow the signal to end up at whatever device is plugged in to HW out 3/4. I dunno why its not working.
Oh, and Missus C was my very first project, recorded before I even got most of my current gear. The acoustic is an Alvarez Regent, mic'd with an SM57 at about the 14th fret through an old Digitech GSP21 effects processor for a preamp. That damn thing had a noise gate on it that I couldn't remove so if you listen to any of that stuff I recorded with it, you can hear that gate opening and closing :)
Thanks for the compliment, and I hope your routing woes are soon solved.
[edit]
I read your post again...can you just plug the headphones into the behringer mixer and see if you get a signal then? I'm almost positive that the wav output from your PC is making it at least to output 3 and 4 of your Delta card if it's configured like I said above...maybe the issue is somewhere between the Behri and the Tascam?

May 10, 2006 05:14 am This is really annoying.
I have the delta panel set to route through wav 3/4. I have set all recording devcies as delta 3/4. I've even plugged my headphones into the delta. still nothing.
It's strange becasue when I play a backing track of my stuff in audition it goes out perfectly into my mixer and beyond.
Oh well.
Thanks for the help anyway!
