hey guys, i got a weird question that im not sure if theres an answer to.

I have a road rack box thingy, and i know crossing audio and power choreds is bad, I cant stop it from happening. the power chords are way long compare to how far they have to go to get to my powercondioner at the top of the rack, so the extra chord is just twirled all aroudn the back of the box, taking up a lot of room, and mixing with my mic and 1/4 chords.

how do you guys take care of that problem??

I'd tape the power chords to one leg of the rack and the audio to the other?

It doesn't matter as much with balanced leads, but watch out for the unbalanced.

'Adjustable zip-ties' is my solution . All the power to one side, and the audio on the other .

Tag the power lines to the handle of the case to help keep it out of the way .

Just bring 'em around to the one side, out of the way of the rest of it . I've got a pretty tight rack(6-spaces) and can still pull it off this way .

You can coil audio cables, just don't coil power cables.

I'd just run them a half foot along the bottom of the wall and back haha.

Yep, either mack and forth like CS stated or in a zig zag kinda thing. I have the same problem but with much larger racks. Have you given any though to moving the power conditioner to the bottom? It would make it much easier to lay out the cable. Streaming them all down one side as Hue pointed out.

If they must cross, do so at 90 degree angle. In other words make an X with the audio and power cable. Try not to have it with too many cables though as that isnt very good, but one or two will be fine.
