Apr 17, 2006 01:58 pm On a Floyd there are 2 large pegs at the front of the bridge that the bridge floats on. Most trems are mounted by screws at the rear, so yes, you would have to add 2 posts at the front of the trem pocket. This is for a standard Floyd. I'm not sure if the speed loader is the same or not.

Apr 17, 2006 10:32 pm I think the Floyd needs a little bigger pocket then most. Dont quote me as I havent owned anything with a trem on it other then Ibanez for several years.
So you may end up having to route a bit out for it to fit.
Apr 17, 2006 10:41 pm Yup, to take advantage of the floating characteristics of a Floyd, you'll need a cavity underneath the back piece.
Also, I beleive they're a little wider then standard trems. It'll probably take quite a bit of modification to your ax to put in the 2 pegs BeerHunter mentioned. Floyds also space the strings slightly further apart so, unless you're using special 'f-spaced' pickups, the strings won't sit directly above the pickup's pole pieces.
