Is the composer a 2xmono or stereo compressor?
You could always do straight in line connections Mic-compressor-desk-outs

ok heres the deal, and i have to figure it out fast.. haha.. got a show tomarrow at a house party and want to know how to set up my compressor with my mixer, for my PA system.
i have a Behringer Composer pro, its a 2 channel compressor/limiter and some other stuff. hahah. and i have a behringer UB802 mixer. all i need to do is compress a single acoustic guitar.. and compress a single vocal. i want to compress them both different ways. EXACTLY how would i connect the stuff through my mixer so i can compress the vocals on certin settings.. and compress the guitar on a different compression setting..
i know how sto use a compressor. just not set it up.. haha

Mar 31, 2006 10:14 am I don't think so, as the main out L and R would both have the same signal, and he want's to compress them differently, meaning they'd have to be separate.
to do that, you'd have to pan ch1 left, and ch2 right, then plug the main out L & R into compressor input 1 and 2. but then the output of compressor would plug into left and right of power amp, keeping the signals separate on the speakers, if it's set up that way. If the power amp is mono, then you wouldn't have a problem. I'm thinking most would work this way, mono, IIRC.
Mic -> mixer ch1 pan left -> compressor 1 -> power amp left-> speakers.
Guit -> mixer ch2 pan right -> compressor 2 -> power amp right -> speakers.
Just don't push to hard into the compressor, or then into the power amp either. Let the amp do the amplifying.
Someone can correct me if i'm wrong, I haven't set up PA in a while.
Mar 31, 2006 10:49 pm The Behringer Composer Pro can function either as dual mono or linked stereo so he can go either way.
