HarBal question

I'm thinking about purchasing harbal, but I was wondering how the rms program db is affected after properly balancing the file. Will it make tracks louder at all, or will it simply balance the eq spectrum while preserving the RMS volume level? Thanks in advance!

Their loudness compensation prevents the "it must sound better cuz it's louder" mistake...however, with version 2 it also has a limiter and features that CAN make it louder if the user wants it to.

I have wavelab with some great nuendo 2 plugin warmers like magneto, a uad card with the 1176 limiter, waves gold, and the great steinberg me plugs for mastering, but I was just wondering how harbal affect RMS. I'm not all about squashing the dynamics out of a recording but at the same time I like the rms figure to be within a couple db of most productions, excluding crazy hyped up overlimited pop radio songs. That's cool that it has loudness compensation and a limiter for use if need be. I guess another selling point for what seems to be a great product. I just got some new monitors (yamaha hs80s) and I think adding harbal to the setup will really help me out to make some good sounding mixes with my new monitors! Thanks for the help
