Mar 03, 2006 08:36 am Hey Tony! That wasn't YOU... just kidding... you sure have changed your style since then. I like this song, but I gotta say, I think your current style has more focus, grit and momentum. Still, it was a fun song and I really enjoyed it!

Mar 03, 2006 10:15 am This sounds like it was fun to record !
I don't think all that verb on the vox is a bad thing at all... kind'a Roy Harper/CCR'ish .
Oh, and very cool of you to post an old four-track tune... 'tis a dying art that I had my share of fun and discovery with .

Mar 03, 2006 10:54 pm Man Tony, that was great. I agree you sure have changed style wise for sure. Interesting bluesy kinda feel to it, had me tappin the ol' toes on the second listen. Another fine bit of TonyD music.
Oh ya, and you sound like you were really havin some fun there as well.
And agree on the reverb thing, that surely wasnt to much at all.

Mar 05, 2006 02:42 pm Hey Tony
Just had a listen to 'Seems a shame'. Very simple, restrained and a beautiful melody. I keep hearing a touch of piano which sounds really nice/ dreamy, almost imagined. Not so keen on the lead guitar bits, i'd probably stick with the piano or maybe a harmonica (but don't go crazy!)
I'd also think about changing the reverb effect to something with a little more echo, sounds pretty boxy at the mo.
Has a word weary Nick Cave type quality to it and your voice sounds a lot like Stuart Staples, who you probably not heard of. He's the singer in a band called Tindersticks, about the only decent band to come out of my home city, Nottingham, England.
Good stuff, Mac
