A new song featuring a slide solo from Olddog

besides visiting here regularly, I also spend time at www.guitaristworks.com

Regularly we have "Recording events" there...such as "Same Song title Madness" where all participants compose and record a song using the same title...anyone is invited to enter...

Well we just finished an "Acoustic/Electric" event...the only parameters to the event was an original recorded song using both acoustic and electric guitars...This is my entry...

First of all, this is a duet featuring myself and my wife...it is her first real main vocal and she's awesome...and secondly the song features a beautiful slide guitar solo from Olddog...

When I was writing the song the idea of a slide solo came to me immediatly...I remembered Olddog's slide work on "I thought I knew you well" and I decided to ask if he'd try...he did and the song is so much better for it....So here it is...I'm putting two links...my Soundclick site and the guitaristworks link...enjoy...

And Thank You Olddog...your work here is greatly appreciated and you really nailed what I was looking for...

Song is entitled "Understand"

I like it, nice melodies. Also your wife's voice is really relaxing or calm to listen to or how you say it. And the slide solo is very cool.

Wow, very interesting to say the least. Your right on your wifes voice, very nice and really adds to the tune.

Second, the break with OD's slide solo is absolutely stunning. Very haunting and fits very well with the feel of the tune. The slide work is as you stated very well done and an excelant addition to the song.
The harmonies are as well very good. And the mix itself is well done also.

Is this event open to anybody? I love the idea of the recording events. Matter of fact, I suggested something similar here a while back, but never really pursued it. I love the thought of making a regular event that gets people into their studios.

Sorry no critique...I'll check out the song when I get a chance.

Enjoyed this very much. Lady's voice is very nice! Slide solo is very cool too. Mix is good and the recoding very clear. I like contests like that. I've been involved in a few in the past on different forums...

Hey Tadpui...in answer to your question, yes...the events at www.guitarisworks.com are open to anyone.

They're not contests...just get togethers where you get to hear all kinds of new original music...anyone who writes and records orginal music would really enjoy these events.

And the quality of music is amazing...click on the link in my original post if you want to hear some...

We have a Same Song Title Madness event coming up real soon....everyone writes and records an orginal song using the same title...it's lots of fun...instrumentals are welcome and collaborations are encouraged...

Let me know if you all want me to let you know when this is happening...

Thanks to listening to my track!

Nicely done, and as Noize put it 'interesting' . It is... it seems this type of arrangement between the two people in the 'concept' conversing, in a way would be pretty hard to do without it sounding like it was meant for a Disney film, but you guys managed to pull it off quite well . Nice one !

And yeah... OD's one bad mo-mo ! heh
