should I go for the juli@ card

hi, i just want to know if the jili@ card can satisfy my audio requirements.

Basically I need to use software processors such as amplitube and native instruments guitar rig as the only amplifiers to my guitar ( i need almost zero latency processing) which i want to record using software such as sonar or sound forge.

I currently have onboard (AC97) sound which is audibly crap compared to the cheap yamaha pci I had before.

Is the Juli@ card good enough for me or are there any other alternatives.

I would say the Juli@ or the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 www.homerecordingconnecti...Audiophile+2496 would be good choices. The Juli@ has some features like the optical output that make it more expensive, and likely are not needed based on what you are saying you need.

Using software guitar software likely isn't helping your latency, you would be better off using hardware modelling like POD, TonePort Vamp or something like that.

thanks for the quick reply.
but my main problem is the price. i can only afford one piece of hardware which has to be able to take guitars, basses, mics, and anything else i can throw at it. The main problem for me between the 2496 and juli@ is the inputs. I still have to connct my speakers and mic which are 1/8" and also instrument cables 1/4". I don't have the kind of cables the 2496 takes. is there something i can do to fix that?

Your perfect answer my well be the TonePort from Line 6, we will have a review coming out soon, it's proven to be a great product for exactly this situation. Has great models for guitar bass and vocal preamps, has high quality sound and a decent price.

Both are very cool and may answer all your needs in one package, it's pretty much made for the needs you are expressing.

i have considered all Line6 products and although i would like to have them, i can't.

the thing is i live in India and there is no hope of me ever getting any choice in the matter of what to buy even if I can afford it.

My only two choices are the2496 and juli@ because there is an online store here (the ONLY indian one) that imported these two units only.

I just want to know which one i won't regret buying because money is a big problem here and whatever i buy, i am stuck with.

Ah, OK, well, I would say you would be happy with either, I would lean toward the audiophile because it is cheaper, and cheaper because it doesn't have a couple features it doesn't sound like you would use anyway.

thanks a lot. that was really helpful.
One more thing I would like to know is do either of these two allow for two simultaneous inputs?

yes, two mono inputs, left and right inputs can be used for two mono inputs or a single stereo input.
