ok, to start it off i bought cubase se 3, a yamaha MG 16/4 mixer, and an audiophile 24/96. I'm a little confused because when i record about four or five tracks it keeps relapsing back to the first track i recorded on which has sound already recorded on it. I was wondering if there was any way i could also individually mix kick, snare, toms, etc. while already in cubase, how would i do that? good luck in figuring this out, and thanks.

Jan 25, 2006 12:43 pm sounds like cubase isn't arming the tracks right, or not creating new tracks when recording. I'm not a cubase user, just thinking out loud.
As far as the multiple tracks, you can only record 2 tracks at one time, with the AP 24/96. You could record each part one (or two) at a time, or get a higher input recording card, like the delta 44, 66, or 1010 & 1010lt. these offer 4 inputs, and 8 inputs of analog simultaneously.
There's other sound interfaces that would work, just staying in the m-audio line.
If you're using a sequencer for drums, you could mix down each part of the drum kit to a wave file, then import each part into cubase. I've done this before with n-track and decided it wasn't worth it. I just got the whole track like I want in FL studio, and then export the whole drum track as a single stereo wave file.
