Hi there, im contemplating buying this behringer eq;

cgi.ebay.co.uk/Behringer-...1QQcmdZViewItem

But i dont have enough outs on my mixer to go from 5 drum mics>mixer>5 band eq.
Instead i would like to EQ the signal before it gets to the mixer, can i do this, or do you need to boost/amp the signal first?

hope you understand, thanks, ollie

Does your mixer have insert points? Say you wanted to EQ a mic before going to the board. Put the EQ on the insert of that channel, and then eq. I am pretty sure that inserts occur before the board... However if you go that route you will only be able to EQ that one channel.

I'm just wondering if you know that the PEQ2200 is a single channel device. It seems like you're thinking it has 5 channels. It has 5 bands of EQ, but it only has one channel. I use 2 of these for stereo... they're pretty good and very quiet...

He can either use the aux send and returns for this, or use the mains inserts. that will allow use of the EQ on all the micced channels. You are using an MX 1602A I believe?

I get you, cheers for the help, you're all my musical rocks,haha. Im going to put my eq into the main mix inserts, both L and R, to get stereo, does it matter if you use stereo leads on a mono output?

thankyou guys

Yes it does matter. I would not sum a stereo signal into a mono input. I would instead use an aux send and return. That way you can use it on any of the channels that need it and inturn they will allow you to still pan your channels with out disrupting the stereo signal sent out from the main outputs.
