Recording with Sound Forge 8 - I am trying to make dj mix cds from vinyl

Hello all -

I just posted in another thread a topic about questions in regards to a new Soundcard I have - M-audio 2496 audiophile soundcard.

I will probably need those questions answered first before using sound forge 8.

I also got Sound forge 8 to use in the recording process.

My application is to record dj mix cds from vinyl that I have via my mixer and turntables.

How do I record my dj sets using Sound forge 8?

Are there are any FAQ's / Tutorials / Tips I can get / use ? The owners manual is a bit vague in regards to step by step processes.

If anyone can help I would be very much appreciative.

thanks so much.

Michael

I've read the SF8 manual and it is pretty complete for getting started. You may want to open the hlep menu while SF is running and read the getting started tutorial there. SF8 installs a very comprehensive set of tutorials available through the help file or even from the program menu installed when installing SF8.

It is realy no differant then using a standard tape machine other then your controls are in software now. And your editing can be done much better and faster as well.
