You know someone's stupid when...

...they ordered 2 brand new Seymour Duncan Custom Custom Humbuckers for use with floyd rose bridge systems. Only to find they ordered the standard spacing SH11 which is 3mm shorter than the TB11 designed especially for tremolo bridges. :0(

That's what I did. And I'm really annoyed with myself. Can anyone tell me if it really matters?

Will I still get good tone from the strings and trem even though I'm using slightly shorter spaced pickups?

Would appreciate any help other MORE EXPERIENCED guitarists can give.

Cheers

Well the tone is going to be slightly differant. Depending on the type of music you are playing, it may or may not make a differance in what you actually hear. If you are playing at high gain levels, you may not notice a huge amount of differance in tone. But in clean situations you may notice a bit of differance.

Really youre main concern is wether the pole pieces, (magnets line up correctly with the strings. If they do, odds are the shorter pickup is only going to be a tiny bit further from the bridge then the one you wanted. You may loose just the smallest bit of high end tone. So I dont think I would be too concerned other then it might look a bit odd.

Call Seymour Duncan. They're fabulous (and just up the street from here...). I've met them over there and they are so helpful. I'm sure there's a help-line number somewhere in the spec sheet for your p/ups. Honestly, if anyone knows what it will do, it's Seymour.
