Cubase SX "crosstalk"

I'm trying to record some stuff on my PC at home. I am a guitarist primarily. I'm using drum loops or the drum tracks on track one. I work with them fine.

When I come to record track 2 i get a quieter version of the drum tracks alaong with the guitar track i am recording. Is there a way round this?

Is it my sound card? Its built in to the motherboard. To obtain another one wouldn't be a problem but I need to know that this is the problem.
