Never had the pleasure. It sure looks like the type of unit you would want to record a whole band, what is what you want. 16 simultaneous inputs! WoooHooo!!!

I would spend the extra money for the alesis multimix 16 fire wire version esspecially if you plan on future enhancements to your studio, like outboard Fire wire hard drives, or a control surface these will interface faster with a firewire conection. Its a performance thing

I'd be very sure that the USB carries all channels individually, instead of in a stereo mix. It doesn't spell it out specifically, so I'd check to be sure.

I think the Yamaha MW line operates this way, all channels get summed, then output on the L & R mains.
