Just Curious, any one out here use analog effects with thier DAW?

I plan on using analog delay (memory man), real spring reverb (vintage premeir 90), and some other effects on an up and coming project I am working on. I really want to use analog effects for the warm, natural, dirty sound they give compared to digital effects built into DAW's. Just curious if there is any one that does this, how they have it set up, and how does it sound? Thanks!

Cheers!

You probably want to add them during mixdown? I think it can be done, but you would need a way to route your signal out of your computer, into your analog boxes, and then back into your computer. I'm not sure that your Audiophile has enough ins and outs to get the job done. I may be mistaken. What DAW are you using?

The other option is to apply the effects as you record, but we all know how undesireable that option would be.

Again, I defer to those that know more than me...

I use them all the time.

As far as how it sounds? Good, depending on the quality of your analog/digital conversion. if you have the budget, you want to make sure that your D/A and A/D converters are decent, as some can unwantingly color the signal... some audiophiles sit around a listen to converters to make sure they have the best signal path but i believe it's purely a preference thing. What i think colors the sound too much, others really enjoy and vice-versa. Currently i just use the In/Outs of my soundcard (Digi001) as hardware inserts and it sounds fine for what i do.
