Peaking

Hey guys,

I've been recording a demo for my band now for a while and I've been doing pretty good up until I had to record the guitar.
When I record, I'm getting hissy peaks from the guitar cab and its not even close to peaking on the mixer. I know its a computer related problem but I can't seem to figure it out.
I didn't have this problem at all when recording drums and bass.
When I turn down the record volume on my pc it really doesn't seem to do much.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike

are you sure it's in the computer? I mean does the guitar going into the amp make the sound, or is it just when it's been recorded?

Ya, Loki that's how I read the thread per "out of my guitar cab". Hi by the way...long time. Mike could you be a little more specific. I looked in your profile and the mics, mixer, etc. look all fine for sure. Maybe a few more hints; e.g. using an xxx sound card, using xxx softwre, using xxx mic or DI from the cab line out.

Pretty wierd the way you have it described.
