MOTU 24 I/O vs. MOTU 192(s)

which is the more ideal/professional setup do you suppose?

two (2) MOTU 192 (to get 24 channels of audio), along with a control surface of some sort (tascam, mixed logic...etc...whichever)

-or-

one (1) MOTU 24 I/O with a 24-32 channel mixer of some sort (behringer, mackie, neve, haha...whichever) in front of it also with a control surface?


im just having trouble sorting through the idea of having a mixer and a control surface, or going mixerless altogether...

it's good to be back, i have alot of things to catch up on and read about on here....thanks
