what is this "DI on your amp?"

if you mean should you run it through your amp, that will give you a certain palette of sounds. but the POD is designed to also just be plugged straight into your computer or into the soundboard. it has cabinet emulators. basically you can do whatever you want with it.

Ya, that is interesting? I have a DI out on my SWR. It's a low impediance XLR output with adjustable gain and a ground lift. It is meant to be an output to a board for recording or mixing into a house system. If that is what you are refering to then no, do not put the POD into that. As Forty mentioned, the pod should have a couple of outputs; one for the input into your amp and one for a board input.

I do something a bit different sometimes with my setup. I run a cable from one of the stereo outs of the pod into the input of my Marshall combo, then running a cable from the send output on the back of the amp to an open channel or the L or R of a stereo input on my console. I then run a cable from the other out of the POD to either one of the seperate channels of my mixing console or the other input of a stereo connection on the mixer. The guitar plugs into the in on the pod. It gives me the best of both worlds and makes for extra fullness in the guitar track(s) being recorded.
