I've just got around to playing with a demo version of OZONE (courtesy of Music Tech magazine - I wish someone would get me a subscription!)and it seems to really improve my final stereo mixes (and that's just the presets). During a quick trawl through the cakewalk forums there seems to be a lot of concern about the new copy protection (PACE) for OZONE 3 VST/DX. Is this a genuine problem/issue to consider before purchase or is it a beat up?

May 04, 2004 09:36 pm Wow, having not read the article I am at a total loss. I have Ozone3 and use it with Cubase SX in the VST format and have no problems that I know of. Ozone3 does take a fair amount of horsepower to run but I love the app.

May 05, 2004 11:23 pm Well, I guess it is a matter of perspective to a degree. Per the article it is the operative system that microslop uses. Therefore it would seem a bit difficult to get away from? It is bothersome that any hardware change may send a system to never never land. As far as incompatibility with other softwares, that is as old as the computer itself. I am glad that you posted the article for sure! It is good to know of the potential problems and have some idea how to persue a fix if the problems manifest!
Thank you!
As far as worrying, I am deciding not to. It will all wash out and I will get through it. Computer technology has always been full of this kind of snafu scenarios.
May 05, 2004 11:40 pm Sorry to panic anyone, but I should have read further before opening my big mouth (or whatever the electronic equivalent is).
It appears due to public response/complaints they have dropped the PACE system for their products (except for Pro Tools). I don't know what this means for people that purchased the product in the few weeks they did use PACE though.
