Lights on command

Ok guys, simple funny question.
I'd like to buy or build by myself a light that will follow my bass drum strokes. How can I do that?
By triggering the sound (I have the mic, the interface (motu 828) and the triggering effect in Digital Performer will trigger MIDI notes from audio events) can I use some midi signal to turn the light on?
Any Help?? Enlighten me!!

It is called MMC, or midi machine control. If you have ever been to a disco tech, you have maybe seen it in action. Not the cheesy disco either, I'm talking about a nice club. Anyway, most of the light's that flash in sync, at a rave or any dance club, use MMC. The lighting control's are hooked to and synced to whatever is running the master timing for the beat. Whether that be a PC or a hardware sequancer, it is giving out a timing signal that will in turn run most MMC compatable gear. There are some simple version's of this that might do what you need. I would suggest doing a search on the web, and see what turn's up. If I come accross any article's or anything in my archive's I will post it here for you.
