Bit of a review...
Showed up at seven o clock thinking, moronicly, the line would be short and I'd be gaurenteed a ticket. Was behind about 70 people. Stood in line for two hours with samantha. Got into the club and found a good place to stand. Opening band started "playing" Friends of mine came up so Ihad people to make fun of the band with. Between songs I yelled a comment to the band, nothing vulgar mind you, but an insulk nonethless, and a woman turned around. I yelled "Do you guys play on the buzz" (which is a local rock station that plays mainstream crap...) and I got a few laughs. So the lady turned around and looked at me and said "No they don't, and that's my husband." Me and my friends thought that was amuzing. Crappy band leaves stage, Lucuna Coil (who I went there to see honestly) Took the stage. I was a happy campler. THe set was amazing and went threw without a hitch. I was sad when the left. Type O was set to come on, but first we had to wait through 20 minutes of carnival music. Type O took the stage and palyed a few songs, after about 4 Peter Steele (singer, Basist) said they were having technical difficulties and left the stage saying he couldn't hear himself. During the interval no one checked monitors or anything... If you know anything about peter steele you know that he gets stagefright, which is what I assume happened. Came back on and complanied about it being 93 degrees on stage, then played the rest of their set. Maybe 5 more songs plus two encores... I didn't think it was worth the amount of waiting.
The band sounded amazing, and were full of energy, but having such a short setlist and the break inbetween made it lose momentum.
All in all I had a great time, well worth the 60 bux I blew there (two tickets and drinks and ciggerettes). Lucuna Coil was amazing. I am dissapointed in Type O though.
