Hey guys been a while since i been in here. I hit a slump where i got a bit down about lack of progress in learning guitar and stopped playing and recording for a while, my girlfriend hearing me constantly complain picked me up the game rocksmith game for my bday this month and holy cow i've not put down my guitar in like 3 days

its like the guitar hero /rockband games, but it uses any guitar you own with a 1/4 inch jack, the game comes with a guitar/usb cable and plugs straight into your pc or xbox

the games auto scale up on dificulty as you play you start off by playing like one or 2 notes a measure, then as you do those good, it adds more notes, after a while you are playing the full song.

it also has technique challenges for practicing thigns like bends hammer ons, tremmolo picking, chords, and more.

and also a section of little mini games that let you practice skills like a running platformer game where you make your guy run by playing scales, a baseball game where you hit the ball with some deep bends. duck shooting game to practice fret placeemnt.

it does not go much into proper hand placement and stuff like that so i like to use it in conjunction with my subscription of guitartricks.com i think both of these together is going to help me push thru my practice sessions.

Yeah, I don't have an xbox, but there is a similar app for iPad/pod/phone called rock prodigy. I haven't used it much yet, though. Looks good, though. :-)

It has a mode that's kinda like guitar hero cept you connect an o
Inline mic and play your guitar through it.

well rocksmith is available on pc, tho you prob have to order it online since most stores only stock a limited amount of pc games now days. i'm planning on getting it both xbox and pc, so when i'm alone i can rock out in front of the big tv, and when my girls is home i can use the pc and headphones
