I need a website...

...quickly. I'm going to get interviewed on KC's community radio station next month and I'd like to have a website up for anyone listening to get on and have a look/listen at what I've done. I'll also need a little web form thing for writing a line or two. I assume the most cost effective way to get music from A->B is to use something like rapidshare or megaupload, so instead of having an upload form on the website I'll include a link to megaupload and request that they copy the link into the form.

So...I'm not a complete n00b when it comes to HTML and I hate templatey looking websites, so something fairly customizable would be nice. I'm handy with the photoshop so maybe I could just do a big image and use an image map or something. Does that work well cross-platform? Which hosting provider do you suggest these days? Where should I register my domain? Do I need to hire one of you guys?

(As far as images are concerned I'll probably just pull everything off of MM's website, change the hue and saturation a little bit and re-upload. I just hope no one asks me where the sonic decrapulator is...)

Heya Quincy, pop me an e-mail sometime. I work with a start-up web design group here in Iowa City. Right now our primary focus is on Drupal-based websites, which are pretty easy to set up, and Drupal is a pretty easy-to-use customizable CMS interface. Although, depending on how many 3rd-party modules you install, it can get a little bloated.

You'll have to talk with the guy I work with so he can get you a quote. I didn't want to post ads or links anything on dB's site since he's also in the web design and drupal hosting business. And he's hosting my site as well hehe. Which, he can probably get you set you up as well.

The nice thing about Drupal is you can set up blocks, and pretty much customize positioning and content however you want. I haven't gotten that advanced with it myself, but the group I've been working with has been doing some complex-ish stuff with some e-commerce sites.

I can't really give any pricing info because we customize the quote to the client's needs.
