i'm a newbie to the forum so hi everyone. i've a setting up problem with my 802 mixer if anyone can shed some light?

i've been using the mixer for about 12 months now and it's all been fine but now i've just changed/added some new equipment in my studio and i'm having trouble connecting everything back up to the mixer.

here's some of my equipment now and the problems i've got.

p.c with a 2496 M-Audio soundcard
Roland ma7 monitors that use rca plugs
Roland HD1 drum ki

the outlet from the drum kit is a phono jack which is a lead that then splits into 2 1/4inch jacks and into the mixer,
when i'm recording (i use Mixcraft) i'm finding that in order for me to hear what i've recorded and to hear the drums at the same time i'm also getting bleeding from the other tracks, i'm assuming this is down to the positions of then c/d tape control buttons on the mixer? anyhows, any help on that part would be appreiciated.

also, the ma7a monitors with their rca connectors are a problem. does anyone know how to connect them up correctly? at the moment i'm having to disconnect 2 of the 4 rca plugs that run into the soundcard on the pc and connect them to the monitors, but then i can't record! which is probably obvious ;-(

anyway guys, apologies for the long-winded post, but if you can help, please do

Ok ok ok,

First fix would be to monitor your recording signal, low latency through mix craft. That way you can run the 2496 RCA outputs to your monitors and still hear yourself as, I assume, everything is connected now.

Otherwise:
Outputs of 2496 go to TAPE IN. Inputs of 2496 to MAIN OUTs. Inputs of monitors from CONTROL ROOM OUT.

Yay!

You'll need some RCA to 1/4 inch adapters though... Or chop and solder your flat mates playstation cable! Works every time.

hi and cheers for that! monitors sorted now thanks to your advice, now to the problem with the Roland drum kit, when i start to record, i'm getting bleeding from other tracks, i've tried various positions on the control/tape buttons but no joy, the cable i'm using is a phono jack from the drum module which then splits into 2 1/4 inch jacks to the mixer, connected to one of the channel inputs, would that be right? anyhows, thanks for your help with the monitors it's apprieciated
thanks
