Jan 18, 2010 07:11 pm I doubt you would see much of a difference between the two. The 212d looks like the newer model, using a class d amp, which is more efficient and should run cooler under heavy use.
More information on the rest of your rig and how it is used would help: the performer(s), music genre, venue size, mics, mixer, etc.
If you're in that price range you're probably doing something similar to me. I picked up good used Mackie SRM450s for about that price.
