Trouble, nothing is recording.

I have a M-Audio 1010LT sound card, and a Behringer 1222fx mixer, I have hooked the RCA cables to what I believe are the right RCA jacks on the 1010LT. However my problem is my software is not showing any sound coming through, I have tried different RCA jacks, etc., but still nothing. Anyone else used both pieces of equipment and can give me some advice? Also I was trying to use my cousins copy of sound studio by magix.

First off, did you install the driver's for the 1010? And as well do you have them selected in the software you are trying to record with?

You need to make sure you are not connecting to the s/pdif connection's as they do look exactly like an RCA connection.

If you have the driver package and so on installed correctly you should be able to pull up the M-Audio control panel and see if their is audio coming in or going out.

Which as well. Have you checked the output by trying say windows media player or something to see if you are getting audio out?

You will need to tell Windows to use the M-Audio driver as well if you are going to do that.

Lastly, if you have a built in sound card that is active you may need to disable the driver for that on some mother boards it is needed to do that.

I have the driver installed for the sound card, and so the checklist this far goes like this:

-Disable onboard soundcard
-Check in windows media player

I believe I have connected into the right connections, the s/pdif's are located on the 'digital' computer chord right? If so I have connected on the 'Analog' connectors. Now, I believe I have the drivers installed, but I do not see where to access the m-audio control panels, which makes me wonder if they installed correctly.

I'm not sure which OS you are running but this link is to the current XP version of driver installation. It is if you have service pack 3 installed with windows XP. This will install the control panel and current drivers.

Give that a shot and see. If it were installed correctly you would have a small icon down on the right of the PC screen by the clock that would be for the control panel.
