Hey guys, thanks for the words on the last mix. Here is a little larger chunk of the song "When where...." The piano was recorded in mono, and now hearing it played back on different monitors, I'm not so sure that I like it as well as I once did. What do you think? How could I take the mono piano track and make it stereo?

"When where" is located in my profile...

Copy the track, then tell your software to make stereo track from 2 mono tracks. Something like that, anyway.

OK. I'll see what the program gives me as options. But will that give me the same sound, but just inserted into left and right, or can I actually get a true stereo separation? I'm also concerned about the phase issues with this.

I'm not sure if Adobe can do it. But I can create a stereo track from a mono track in Sonar. It doesn't really add that much. But as pjk stated, you can copy the track and with some simple EQ tweaking to the individual track's and a very minute delay on one of them you can get a slightly large image for it. When I do this I do not pan them hard to either side. I will usually go 50% or so tweaking it until it sounds a bit fuller.

My personal thought after listening a couple of times is that it is not all that bad. It had a different room sound. Although I will try and give it a better listen tomorrow when I have a bit more time. But first impression is that it is not that bad at all.

I think the song sound pretty good myself.

Thanks, Noize. What are you meaning when you say "It had a different room sound."?

I'll try the two mono trick.

The sound of the piano was a bit different, meaning it wasn't the normal echoing or large reverb type piano sound. It had a rather close in kind of feel to the sound. Which I liked by the way.
