Dear musicians!
I play basically a little bit of everything and I wanna try the following setup and i need help:
I want to use a drum machine live, and I want to be able to control it with a foot midi controller. So basically I wanna switch between loops, and make fills and stuff. And switch between presets.
Can somebody suggest me a good setup?

Jun 01, 2009 09:19 pm Do you have a drum machine in mind you want to use? That would be a good place to start.
The control part will take a bit of work to set it up that way but it is very doable with a decent midi foot control.
You can find a decent used one as well. I suggest to stay away from the Behringer though as it is very difficult to program and is very finicky.
I know ADA and a few others have simply foot switch types that aork very well.
Jun 02, 2009 12:34 pm I dont even know which machine to use. Whichever one has MIDI I guess.
Or, actually, if there is machine that comes with 3 footswitches - that would be great. One switch would switch between presets. THe other: for fills. And the third one for switching between variations. But such things probably don't exist....

Jun 02, 2009 09:09 pm Nope, they don't. You would have to get a separate midi foot switching unit. So you have any local music store you can go have a look and try out a few different drum machine at? That would be your best starting point for sure.

Jun 05, 2009 09:21 pm I guess for what your looking to do I would maybe opt for something from Roland / Boss. I think they would offer you more option's for setting up programs and such more for live use.
