I am interested in MX200 in order to use it in my home studio. I am planning on using it for generally everything; guitar, bass, vocals, drums etc. I imagine that won't make most sense to you but on a budget I am trying to get the best bang for my buck. The reason why I choose MX200 because it says that it can also be used as a vst plugin when connected through usb. Anyone who has experience with this unit or any other suggestions on what I should consider buying (within that price range) would be very helpful... thank you :D

...and also it says that the unit is 24bit 48khz... does that mean that the unit will lower the sound quality overall since I make my recordings in 24 96khz??? probably a dumb question but I am really new to recording :D

I've used Lexicon hardware on and off for years. While I wouldn't invest a dime in their interfaces there processor's are good.

I'm not sure on the VST portion of it but yes, it will only run 24 bit 48 khz so that is a limit there on the digital end of it. But if your using its analog i/o that won't matter at all as it is up to your interface then on its inputs.

But using it in VST format as well should not matter either as that is software only.

But Lexicon's effects are very good and the price doesn't look half bad at all.
