MIDI Hook Up

Can you please advise me on the best way to hook up the following midi equipment. I have a Roland TD-7 drum set/sound module and a M-audio axiom 61. both going into my M-audio projectmix.

Should I just go from the outs to the ins all the way to the board? Or out on Device 1 to in on device 2 then thru on device 2 to the board?

What should come first in the chain, the roland or the axiom?
