Hi, all. Im after some advice for my first mic preamp. I record primarily guitars. But something thats versatile in vocals/intruments and at a fair price. (Say around $300-$400AUD). Any suggestions would be great.
Cheers, Boe

or would my Fireface 800 interface have mic pre's and if so would they be sufficient enough? If theres something thats only a little bit more money thats gonna improve my sound/tone thats what im after. Cheers

Have you heard of the FMR Audio RNP (Really Nice Pre) ?

I believe the 800 has 4 discrete pre amp channels right on the front for mic input. Those should work fine and give pretty decent quality.

Otherwise you can look into something like the Grace 101 which I believe should be in that price range. But the FMR unit that Dualflip described is also a great little pre amp as well and pretty affordable as well.
