SP-606 Sampling Workstation help please

hi me and my band are new to sampling and essentially what we want to do is have it so that the samples are completely mapped out for the song and are all one trigger at the beginning so no one has to trigger indivudual cues since we all play instruments.

So basically we want like 8 clicks at 130 bpms for example then the sampled track will start and the drummer will be on time with the song and thus the whole band

So we need it so the samples are going out to the PA, but the drummer has the click from the sampler going in his ears. The obvious problem with this is if we incorporate a click track on the sample everyone will hear it from the PA, but if we dont have a click track and we play even 3 bpms faster its gonna be a crash and burn scenario... can anyone tell us if its possible to set this up in the fashion we need it? Much apreciated.

If you have a mobil DAW to connect to your sampler via midi, one of these might do the trick...

... just place the screen within the drummers view .

Yes, you can do that. I'll have to check on the time limit though of the SP-606, or you can check the manual for it. You will be looking for maximum sample recording time.

It is based on how much ram is actually onboard the sampler itself.

I know several performer's that do this with laptops and it works well for them.
