I was wondering if I could get some advice. I’m looking to purchase a USB or FireWire recording device for around $200 to $300 dollars. I need it to be able to record at least 4 channels simultaneously. I will be using Adobe Audition to mix and record tracks. I was looking at the Lexicon Omega, but the reviews make it seem like a bad choice. What is the best choice? I’m new to recording with a USB device.
Thanks!

Any of the USB or Firewire devices there are pretty good. M-Audio keeps pretty current on their drivers and are also farily easy to get up and running.

The M-Audio Fast Track Ultra seems like the way to go. It claims it can do 8 simultaneous channels. I am using Adobe Audtion 1.5 do you think there will be any conflict with recording multi channels?

Jul 23, 2008 11:56 pm NO, There shouldn't be any problem with recording multiple channels but this will mostly depend on the grunt of your PC/MAC.
