Help with Sonar 6 and Edirol UA-25

Sorry for a load of daft questions to follow but I'm new at all this and horribly confused.

Bought a new laptop which runs Vista, and wanted an external soundcard/midi interface for recording audio over backing tracks done in Band in a Box. I purchased the Sonar Power Studio 250 which is a bundle of Sonar 6 and the Edirol UA-25 soundcard. Did all the necessary installing of the drivers and software but I can't get the thing to give me any sound output in either BIAB or Sonar.

In both Band in a Box and Sonar I can get midi input, audio input, but I must be doing something wrong with the driver selection or the way I've got it set up as I can't any output through the UA-25, although I can through the laptop's internal soundcard. I've checked all the cables and followed the instructions in the troubleshooting sections e.g are the speakers turned on - yes! (There's no output through the headphones either)

I'm going bonkers because I just don't know what else to do! I'm a complete novice and am beginning to get phobic about anyone talking in abbreviations, so if anyone has any ideas that they can pass on in plain English, I'd be ever so grateful!

Thanks,Rowena

It sounds like you still have the internal sound card selected as the output drivers in both application's. YOu need to go into the options/audio section and select the UA-25 drivers or Edirol drivers for output as well.

Then in the track section select that as well. The track will not know what to use for the output until you assign the Edirol as its output source.
