peace.

i am getting a flat line after recording audio samples from a turntable thru a dj mixer into the mpc. there is sound and the mpc is recording because there is playback. however, when looking at the same recorded sample in trim mode (chopshop) there is a flat line instead of the normal peaks and valleys.

current set up is technics sl1200mk2, numark dm950 usb dj mixer, and akai mpc 2500. turntable is connected to the line L&R of the dj mixer, and the dj mixer master out is connected to the mpc record in.

i'm sure this flat line is not normal... and i am looking for a lil help. for more deatils please see my other entries at www.mpc-forum.com title "I'm getting a flat line".

thank you in advance!

Dude, I will try and help ya but I'm not going to a forum site that is plagued with pop ups and is slow as molasses. So I'll just start asking the question's that might lead to helping out.

So if I get this right, you are getting sound recorded in and can see that it is as well as have it actually playback in normal mode?

It is only when switched to trim mode that you get a problem. Can you hear it at all in trim mode?

It sound to me as though there may be a problem with the internal software/firmware not getting the wav file to the trim editor in one piece. That may require a factory reset, which you can do for yourself without having to send it in for repair.

The description of how to do it should be in the manual.

Let me know if I missed anything.
