Sound Forge 7.0 Help Please?

Hi i'm recording mp3's with Sony Sound Forge 7.0 so i can mix with them on my final scratch however, when they're recording there's tiny glitches in them which then knocks the beats out of sync so i can't mix with them. Has anyone else had this problem? Or can anyone suggest a solution to my problem? Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is it just tiny little blips. like a pause and then everything resumes? Try to up the buffer settings, that would be my guess, could be off base though.

How do i up the buffer settings? Should i upload an mp3 that i've made so you can hear what i mean by a "glitch"?

brocky, that would be a big help to hear it.

I'll ask though when you say your recording them. Do you mean you are actually recording from a CD into SF or are you simply transferring them into SF from CD.

If you were to simply insert the CD into the PC and then in the drop down menu simply select import audio from CD and then import each track that way. It usually avoids any artifact like glitching.

OK then, what are you using as the interface to get the audio into the PC from the turntable?

If you are using the stock sound card then that is probably the cause right there. They are not made to record audio very well. Although they can do it you will have the problems you are having as they are not meant to be very high performance at all.

One possibility can be your audio codecs that you have installed. I've experienced similar problems in my DAW due to conflicting codecs. If you have any codec packs like klite or similiar you may want to uninstall them then see if the problem persists.
