One thing I can see is a problem:

line out from your amp is putting out LINE level signal.

Instrument input on your inspire wants INSTRUMENT level signal, which is much less than LINE level. Inst level is slightly more than MIC level, I think.

See if you can plug into a LINE input, instead of instrument input.

But this won't fix your 'no-hear-um' problem.

If you see level inside the control panel, then that's half the way there.

where do you have the speakers, and /or headphones plugged in.

Sounds to me like a routing issue. Does the manual have a 'getting started' section? that probably should should the basics of connections.

Ok. You've got your monitors hooked directly to the inspire? You can get a single stereo 1/8" to dual mono 1/4" plug from your music dealer.

Not sure what you're trying to accomplish here, if you had signal in the control panel, then why would you change the inputs?

Again, not sure what you're trying to accomplish here . . .

To re-iterate: plug INSTRUMENT level signals into a instrument input. Plug LINE level signals into a line input. They can be mis-matched to a degree, but it's not what the inspire wants as an input signal. Keep them straight, and have less hassles later on.

I would suggest plugging the speakers into the inspire outputs. This way you will enjoy better D/A conversion than what your onboard sound will offer.

Also, it may help to know what speakers you're using. Did they work on the PC before?

In your control panel, there may be a routing interface, which lets you send incoming signal over to the outputs. See that your outputs are turned on, turned up, etc.

This can also be done in your recording software, like your multitrack program. Not knowing what you're using, so can't help there.

Did you read the manual? is there a 'getting started' section? You didn't answer in your post.

If you're using Cubase LE that came with the inspire, you have to have your monitors plugged into the Inspire. ASIO will allow you to set it up otherwise but it defaults to the single ASIO device.

I own one of those man, so I might be able to help you out. First of, plug your monitors(speakers) in the Inspire via the Output L-R RCA type connection... Err... Scratch that... If you are just using regular computer speakers, you can just use the headphone out (1/8" connection) to get sound from there. But, in your virtual control panel make sure you volume "knobs" are up for main and headphone. You should be able to hear play back from plugging your guitar straight into the Inspire. Monitoring it through a DAW software will be a different story.

Also, in the virtual control console, are you getting anything through there? You have to set the gain for the inputs in order to get anything through them. You can tell if it's receiving anything by the meters that are in the console for the inputs. If you still don't get anything, let us know and I'll take some screen shots for you and help you out on setting it up. But, try this first.

Haha. I see. You still should been able to hear the playback just from the Inspires Control panel though... Well, at least you got what you needed. Haha. I'd like to hear what your recording sometime. Kinda compare your sound to mine.
