just finished the construction part of my studio now for the hard part what to go with???????i was thinkin of a stand alone unit like tascam sx1le or was going to go with a mac and firepod...any input anyone can give will be greatly appreciated....ps not a lot of computer skills thanks...don

Mar 24, 2008 12:32 pm My experience is that although the standalones have some good "mojo" and produce fabulous sound, you can soon outgrow them as you are limited in resolution, track number, effects etc. Also mixing can be less that intuitive.
The PC with DAW is a great medium and can expand with you as you progress (it's a process, not a race). The versatility is really only limited by budget.
