Cake walk VST to Analog

I have Sonar 7 and record straight midi into an Alesis IO|14 onto a track within Sonar. I then change the track output and point it to an Audio track with a VST assigned to lets say a Piano.

How do I get this VST sound into an analog track (Like a vocal track) where I can edit the sound.

I thought I was able to do this previously but for some reason I am at a loss.

Any ideas..?

Thanks, Allen

Well there are two ways to do it. If by editing you mean adding effects and such then you simply add them to the synth/audio track as if it was an audio track. I do that all the time and then freeze the track when I'm done.

Otherwise you simply select the track and mix it down as audio to an open audio track.

To Noize2u,
if I have more than one instrument in Cakewalk TTS-1 such as a piano and a string,
how can I add two different audio effects for two instrument respectively?

Beside inserting one more Cakewalk TTS, any more efficient way?

Thanks.

Noize2u, you said;

"Otherwise you simply select the track and mix it down as audio to an open audio track"

How is this done? Is there a menu option for it..?

To Mcfly66,
you should find an option under Edit menu, choose bounce to track.

Yes, that is right. bounce to Track will get it done.

terryko, if you set the TTS-1 up with the synth rack you will see an option to open all audio tracks. It will offer either stereo or mono tracks. In stereo it will give you 4 separate stereo outputs which you can assign an individual or multiple instrument's to. Then you can simply add which ever effect you want to that individual track.
