Presonus Firestation with Logic Pro 7

This is what we have:
mac powerbook g4
presonus firestation
logic pro 7

we are a 3 man band and we would like to mic up our guitar amps and drums and record through logic pro 7.

Now, just to test, i've tried hooking up my bass to the firestation, and trying to record it through logic, however, i'm having a hell of a time. What i do know is that I can see that for audio drivers, i can select mLan and i have. Then in the "arrange window", i can assign something like "strings" to the mLan: firestation1. i press record and nothing. I can hear my bass through the headphones connected to the firestation, so no problem there.

I also tried selecting an audio track, setting the port to core audio, i clicked 'record' but nothing.

Anyhow, i know i'm an idiot when it comes to this and i must be doing something completely wrong. I have read a book on logic pro 7(well read part of it), and it didn't say how to set up Logic pro so i could record through something like the firestation. I also downloaded the manual, but didn't get much out of that either.

I'm hoping someone out there can shed some light. Are there any other free easy to use software i can try for this?

Anyhow, thanks in advance for trying to help a man out.

You need to make sure the drivers are installed for the firestation. Then go into the options/audio menu in Logic. There should be an audio interface driver selection tab and you should see the firestation or Presonus driver marked there. Simply select that for recording and playback. Now in the track you want to record set the input for the same driver you just selected, and the output as well.

You should be good to go from there.
